SPRING COMES ITO WINE COUNTRY

It is still raining somedays but the ones in between are brilliantly sunny.  Yellow is a theme for these days.  The mustard flowers between the grapevines and daffodils blooming along the roadside are abundant. You can call it "soul food" , as in food for the soul.  The tasting rooms still are relatively quiet except for the lively event weekends, especially those in Sonoma County. There are so many areas to choose from you can join the party or choose a destination away from the crowds.

There is the Wine Road Barrel Tasting on two weekends at the beginning of March. Visit www.wineroad.com  for details. Wineries in the Russian River, Dry Creek and Alexander Valley appellations are participating, offering bites of food to compliment their wines.

April 26 and 27 is Dry Creek Valley's Passport Weekend.  This event is so popular that 2008 is sold out! You can get on board for 2009, however, by clicking here.

May 17 and 18 is the Passport to Sonoma Valley event, with over 40 wineries and 200 wines to taste! You can purchase tickets via the link above.
